In the 1/16 finals on January 11, Tyurnev played a difficult match, but it could not be otherwise. The most important thing is that Eugene showed character and won a strong-willed victory over the Frenchman Antoine Oan – 6:7 (6:8); 7:6 (10:8); 6:2.
