In the semifinals of the selection Lazarov beat Kilian Feldbausch from Switzerland in two sets – 6:1; 7:6 (7:3). And yesterday, in the qualifying final, Alexander beat Portuguese Enrique Rocha in two sets – 7:5; 6:4. Lazarov started the match unsuccessfully and immediately lost two consecutive games on his serve, but Alexander was also able to make a break and as a result, the Bulgarian conceded with a score of 1:3 in games, which did not so critical. However, Rocha still quite confidently reached the set, but then Lazarov abruptly added and made two consecutive breaks from the score 4:5, which allowed the Bulgarian to take the set. In the second set, both tennis players initially worked competently on their serves. In the middle of the game, with the score 2:2, Lazarov almost lost a game on his serve, but Alexander showed character and pulled the game from the score 15:40. Then the tennis players exchanged breaks, but with the score 5:4 Lazarov made a second break and immediately closed the match in his favor. The tennis players spent one hour and fifty minutes on the court.
Alessandro GiannessiThe 32-year-old representative of Italy, in turn, is just getting ready to start at the tournament in Portugal.
Last week Giannessi competed at the dirt challenger in Valencia from qualifying. Alessandro got into the main draw of the tournament in Spain as a lucky loser after failing to qualify. However, in the 1/16 finals Giannessi lost in two sets to Spaniard Nicolas Sneche-Izquierdo – 2:6; 4:6. This game was on November 22.
