On June 1, at 13:00 Moscow time, Kudermetova will play against Kasatkina in the 1/4 finals of Roland Garros. Who will be stronger in the Russian derby? Bookmakers are leaning towards Dasha's victory.
Veronika Kudermetova
Kudermetova is a 25–year-old Russian tennis player, the 29th racket of the world. This season she has already won three finals (Melbourne-1, Dubai and Istanbul), but not a single title. She also looked good at major competitions: the 3rd round at the Australian Open, the 4th round in Miami and the 1/4 finals in Indian Wells. At the tournaments in Madrid and Rome, she took off in the first round, but at Roland Garros she "shot": first she passed Zhu Lin and Krunich, then beat Badosa (6-3, 2-1, refusal), and in the 1/4 final she won a strong-willed victory over Cis: 1-6, 6-3, 6-1.
Daria Kasatkina
Kasatkina is a 25–year-old Russian tennis player, the 20th racket of the world. She played well in Australia (semifinals in Melbourne-2 and Sydney, 3rd round at the Australian Open), then there was a decline, but she played out on the ground: 3rd round in Madrid, semifinal in Rome, and now 1/4 finals at Roland Garros, with which she reached this stages without losing a single game. Dasha was lucky with the grid, of course: all the competitors are not in the TOP 40.
Personal meeting statistics
The only face-to-face meeting ended with Kasatkina's strong-willed victory: 1-6, 6-1, 6-2. It was the match of the 1/4 finals of the tournament in St. Petersburg last season.

Forecast from LiveResult.ru
Dasha is on the move now: on the way to the 1/4 finals, she did not lose a single game and made at least two breaks in each of the eight sets played. Kudermetova was not so rosy, but her rivals were stronger. Whatever it was, but Kasatkina's victory looks much preferable, so you can safely take it with a small minus handicap.
