Grigor Dimitrov from Bulgaria will play against Juan Pablo Varillas from Peru in the 1/8 finals of the ATP-250 tournament in Chengdu.
Grigor Dimitrov
The 32-year-old representative of Bulgaria is just getting ready to start at the tournament in China. The last time Dimitrov played official matches was at the US Open. At the Grand Slam tournament in the USA, Dimitrov reached only the 1/16 finals, where he lost in four sets to Alexander Zverev from Germany – 7:6 (7:2); 6:7 (8:10); 1:6; 1:6. This game was from the second to the third of September.
Last week Grigor Dimitrov played at an exhibition tournament in Frankfurt to keep himself in a bit of a game tone.
Juan Pablo Varillas
The 27-year-old representative of Peru, in turn, started at the tournament in Chengdu only yesterday. In the 1/16 finals, Varillas easily beat the Chinese Jie Tsui in two sets, who occupies only 583rd place in the ATP ranking – 6:1; 6:3. Juan Pablo made two consecutive breaks at the very beginning of the match and led 4-0 in games. Next, the Peruvian competently worked on his serve and led the game to victory, and with the score 5:1 Varillas made another break and thereby took the set with a big difference. In the second set, Juan Pablo already made a break with a score of 2:1 in games and led with a score of 4:1. After that, the Peruvian, due to competent work on his serve, calmly brought the game to victory. The tennis players spent one hour and fifteen minutes on the court.
Forecast
In this match Grigor Dimitrov, of course, is considered by the bookmakers to be the undisputed favorite. The representative of Bulgaria, in the opinion of many, should win a crushing victory, but, nevertheless, it may not be the most passable match here.
