In the semifinals of qualification for the tournament in Cordoba, Daniel Riveros from Ecuador will play against Argentine Nicolas Kicker.
The 29-year-old representative of Argentina, after not the best performance in Australia, took a break for several weeks to prepare for qualifying for a home tournament from the ATP. In Australia, the Kicker initially performed unsuccessfully at the challenger in Bendigo. In the 1/32 finals, Nicholas beat the Italian Filippo Baldi - 6:3; 6:1. But in the 1/16 finals, the Kicker could no longer cope with the Frenchman Enzo Coco – 7:6 (7:1); 4:6; 4:6. In qualifying for the Australian Open, the Kicker lost in his first match to the modest Serbian Nikola Milojevic – 4:6; 7:5; 2:6.
Daniel Galan Riveros
25-year-old Riveros, in turn, after performing in Australia, won the challenger in Chile, which was a good preparation for the Ecuadorian to perform in qualifying in Cordoba. For Riveros, of course, the minimum task is to get into the main draw of the tournament, and therefore from the very beginning he will have to play at the limit of his strength.
Daniel Riveros looks more preferable in this confrontation. The most important factor is the victory at the tournament in Chile in mid-January, but it is extremely difficult to say in what form the Kicker will be.
