Copenhagen Flames and Fnatic will meet in one of the matches of the 1/8 finals of the IEM Katowice 2022 Play-In. Who will pass next?
Copenhagen Flames
The Danes have already managed to perform at three tournaments in 2022, but they could not achieve a positive result at any of them, and even reach the grand final. We opened the year with the Malta Vibes Knockout Series 5 tournament, in the quarterfinals of which we lost 0-2 to forZe and were eliminated. Then there was Pinnacle Winter Series 1, where we managed to perform a little better and get to the semifinals, but then a nondescript game and 0-2 from K23. And the worst event for the "Lights" at the moment is the ESL Challenger League Season 40 Europe - two defeats in three matches and the final 9th-12th places.
Fnatic
Last year, the Fnatics were able to make a breakthrough by winning several tournaments in a row. Thanks to this, KRIMZ and the company even got into the top ten teams. However, it was not possible to develop success at the beginning of 2022. Moreover, while the Fnatic shooters are exclusively losing, having ingloriously completed two tournaments. At Funspark ULTI 2021 Finals, they lost 1-2 BIG and Astralis and took 7-8 places, and at Pinnacle Winter Series 1 they started from the 1/4 finals stage and immediately lost - 0:2 Apeks.
Forecast
Both teams are far from perfect shape and make a lot of mistakes. However, in this confrontation, I prefer the Fnatic team, which should get together and beat the guys from Copenhagen Flames who are inferior in class.
