Description
Уильям Квист Йоргенсен появился на свет в датском городе Оддер. Начал заниматься футболом в местной школе "Торсагер Рёнде", первое время выбирал между гандболом и футболом. На юношеском уровне попал в команду "КБ Копенгаген" и 23 апреля 2015-го года дебютировал за взрослую команду "Копенгагена". С этого года началась долгая карьера Квиста в гранде датского футбола. Следующие 6 лет он провёл в футболке "Копенгагена", сыграв 181 матч. Цепкого опорного полузащитника заметили в Германии, крепкий в те годы "Штуттгарт" договорился о трансфере игрока. За три сезона Квист принёс клубу немало пользы, но затем его отдали в аренду. "Фулхэм" не предоставил достаточно игровой практики, "Уиган" тоже. Через два года скитаний Уильям вернулся на родину.
Сейчас Квист вновь защищает цвета "Копенгагена", исполняя функции капитана и духовного лидера. Во время второго своего пришествия в Данию Уильям сыграл более 80-и матчей, в сумме завоевав с "Копенгагеном" 7 чемпионских титулов и 3 Кубка Дании. В национальной сборной Квист является вице-капитаном и одним из самых опытных игроков. Работоспособный полузащитник дебютировал за сборную ещё в 2007-м году, в товарищеской игре против Ирландии. Центр поля Дании сложно представить без цепкого Квиста, всего у него набралось 77 матчей за сборную. Уильям один из немногих игроков сборной Дании, которому довелось выступать и на чемпионате мира, и на чемпионате Европы. Молодой Квист выступал на групповых турнирах ЧМ-2010 в ЮАР и Евро-2012. Оба раза Дания покидала турниры до стадии плей-офф. Теперь уже опытный Уильям будет цементировать датский центр поля на мировом первенстве в России.
